Pride in Public Service
Our employees take great pride in working for an organization whose mission is to promote sound economic growth and financial stability in the New England area and the United States. We serve the public through high-quality research, regulatory approaches, financial services, outreach programs, and a commitment to leadership and innovation.
Employees at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston are very involved in developing strong partnerships with local government, businesses, and support organizations in New England. We work together to enhance public awareness of local and national issues that affect the economy, credit, and financial systems.
Our employees undertake challenging assignments to support the Bank’s mission. They contribute to decisions that affect the economic and financial health of the New England area, the United States, and the world.

The Bank encourages its employees to grow professionally and pursue professional development opportunities throughout their careers here. The Bank presents a number of resources for career development through interactive classroom experiences, challenging work, and action-learning assignments. To encourage and support our employees in their career development, the Bank provides a tuition reimbursement program, individualized career counseling, coaching, and leadership and mentoring programs. We also offer onsite training and stretch assignments in areas such as bank supervision, research, public policy, information technology, accounting, and finance.
Competitive Pay & Benefits
Our employees work hard at their jobs and are compensated based on the Bank’s leading-edge Market-Based Pay Program. Our employees and their families also have access to a competitive benefits package, which includes a comprehensive selection of medical, dental, and vision plans, parental leave, a fully funded pension plan, and Bank matching on our 401K plan. Our employees can also take advantage of group personal insurance (e.g., life, home, auto), legal assistance, mental health resources, and financial advisory services, which are also part of the Bank’s benefits program.
Healthy Work-Life Balance
Our employees pursue challenging careers without giving up the other important dimensions of their lives. Our employees have access to off-site emergency backup childcare, on-site health and fitness centers, as well as a number of other conveniences that enable our employees to find the optimal balance between career and their personal lives. Many of our employees take advantage of the Bank’s vacation buy program that allows them to purchase up to one additional week of vacation per year.
Social Impact
Our employees strongly believe in contributing to the region we serve, as reflected in the number of community organizations they support and the various green initiatives that are currently underway at the Bank.
Our employees are able to participate in numerous volunteer opportunities, either through organizations such as the United Way or through the Bank’s financial literacy training and education programs or, tutoring and reading programs at a local elementary school.
