Co-sponsored with Northeastern University's School of Public Policy & Urban Affairs, this November 2009 forum featured economic research assessing the impact of New England’s changing demographics.

The New England Public Policy Center’s 4th annual conference explored the role that older professionals can play in meeting the region’s labor force needs over the next 20 to 30 years. This December 2008 conference featured presentations that investigated the changing demographic and labor force trends in New England and the US and examined what employers, employees, and the public sector can do to lengthen the labor force participation of the population age 55 and older.

The Future of the Skilled Labor Force: The Supply of Recent College Graduates
This September 2009 forum featured new research about the supply of the region's college graduates. Participants leaned about and discussed the factors that affect the stock of recent college graduates, how those factors have changed over time, and their relative importance in explaining the slower growth of this segment of the labor force.

Financing Municipalities in New England: Revisiting the State-Local Relationship
This December 2007 conference investigated the fiscal relationship between New England's state and municipal governments and discussed potential strategies to finance municipalities. Specifically, speakers examined the design of municipal aid formulas and addressed the potential impact of adopting local option sales taxes.

This December 2006 conference convened a select group of key stakeholders including policymakers, insurers, hospital administrators, employers, public health advocates, and health policy researchers from across all six New England states and the nation.
