A new educational program and competition that teaches 9th and 10th grade students about the European Union was launched in the fall of 2009.
Euro Challenge Competition fosters a better understanding of the European and transatlantic economy and supports local learning objectives in the field of economics and finance. Students compete for scholarships awarded by the Moody's Foundation which also sponsors a one-day field trip to Washington D.C. The Massachusetts and New Hampshire regional round of the competition will be held in late March or early April at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The winning team will have a chance to advance to the semi-final and final rounds of the competition to be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on April 27, 2011.

, where you will find a wealth of information on the program and the competition format. In its fourth year, the competition is expanding to New England. Our hope is that through opportunities like this one, we can engage students’ interests and bring to life some fundamental global economic issues.
