“Student Bankers . . . Do You Know Your Basics?”
Friday, April 8, 2011
9am – 1pm

This will be the eleventh year that the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston has hosted the Massachusetts School Bankers Spring Conference (MSBA). This conference is a competition where partnering banks/schools come to compete on topics such as identity theft, the Federal Reserve System, credit, and many other topics. On the competition day, the Boston Fed hosts about 25-30 schools in Massachusetts (300-350 students and teachers).

The students compete in different competitions:

• Marketing (teams develop marketing pieces that focus on theme)

• Banking trivia (teams have to answer questions related to the theme and the Federal Reserve System and their responses are scored)

• Essay (750-word essay on the conference theme)

• Product development (an individual or team will create a product that will be professionally presented that reflects the theme of the conference)

The winning students receive scholarships and prizes.
