As the branch of the nation’s central bank in New England, the Boston Fed monitors the region’s economy in real time, providing data and analysis on regional economic conditions from northern Maine to southern Connecticut. We offer a range of resources from data tools, periodic economic updates, and public presentations that share our findings. Interactive and summary data resources include the New England Economic Indicators database and interactive tool, which provide monthly and quarterly economic data for the six New England states and the region, the New England City Data Tool, which uses Census data to compare demographic characteristics of places within a city. Insights into regional economic trends and conditions are available from the quarterly New England Economic Indicators Snapshot, from presentations made to public groups, and from the Boston Fed’s contribution to Board of Governor’s Beige Book, which summarizes anecdotal information on current economic conditions.
On a limited basis, the Boston Fed provides speakers to nonprofit, business, and civic groups on topics such as functions of the Federal Reserve, banking issues, economic conditions, community development efforts, and economic/financial education.
