Richard E. Holbrook, chairman and chief executive officer of Eastern Bank Corporation, serves as the Federal Advisory Council (FAC) representative for the First Federal Reserve District. The FAC, which consists of one banker from each of the 12 Federal Reserve Districts, meets quarterly to discuss business and financial conditions with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Holbrook also serves on the executive committee of the Boston Chamber of Commerce and is the former chair of the Massachusetts Bankers Association. He is chair of the Mutual Institutions Council of the American Bankers Association. Mr. Holbrook serves on the board of directors of Partners HealthCare, Inc., and of Jobs for Massachusetts, and is chairman of the board of trustees of the North Shore Medical Center.
