Commuting Gets a Little Easier with Transit Mobile Payments

Smartphones have significantly transformed the way people use the transit system. More U.S. transit agencies are adding mobile payment options and related features that enhance convenience for commuters and encourage habitual use of mobile payments. This brief examines how transit mobile payments are evolving with the convergence of fare payments, real-time travel information, complementary transportation services, and other capabilities that help commuters optimize convenience, efficiency, and cost.
